• Some jobs in France do not have the same prestige or pay as other countries
• The French are not always receptive to foreign employees
• Locals can initially be suspicious of strangers
• Some regions are remote
• Higher cost of living exist for some items e.g. electrical and telephone, plumbing and renovation
